Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the generous portion sizes, often describing the meals as huge and filling. The freshly cooked fish, particularly the cod, garners high praise for its crispy batter and tender, flaky interior. Many patrons appreciate the nostalgic experience of enjoying classic fish and chips, feeling at home with each bite. The lunchtime specials are a hit, with many considering them to be an unbeatable value. Friendly service completes the experience, as staff consistently manage to brighten the dining atmosphere with their attentive and warm demeanor. This combination makes Master Fryer a favorite in St Albans, where positive word of mouth continually attracts new visitors.

Most Disliked

Some patrons mention that Master Fryer experiences busy periods, especially on weekends, which can result in longer wait times. Although this speaks to their popularity, it may not appeal to those in a hurry. Additionally, a few have noted that prices might seem on the higher side compared to other chippies, especially in London, with meals totaling around £15. However, most agree that the quality and taste justify the cost. While the atmosphere is casual, it may not suit diners looking for a more upscale experience. Finally, menu options cater well to diverse tastes, but those strictly seeking traditional fish and chips may be overwhelmed by the variety.

Proper fish and chips shop. One of the best cod+chunky chips+mushy peas combo I've had anywhere in UK. Very nice staff, a bit of a London's prices with 15gbp all together, but definitely worth it for the fans of F&C. Huge Portion and delicious food. 9/10 overall or 9.5/10 f&c taste wise.
